Today (after I took R to school) I hopped on the bus and went to the gym. I had the 2nd half of my induction today. Firstly I went on the recumberant bike (easier than upright bike) but only managed 6 minutes on it (my legs were killing me). Howdo people spend so long on them. Kept glancing round to see if anyone could see how badly I was doing.
I had to keep one eye on the clock as I had my induction at 10.30am with Mike. Then when a treadmill was free I went on one of these and did 20 minutes at 5.2 mph (yippeeee fast walking for me). Was quite pleased with how I did on
treadmill but how on earth did that only burn about 85 calories?????? My heart rate was at 140 bpm. I do not think I am very fit.
After the treadmill I went to the downstairs gym and was shown 4 of the resistence machines and how to do the 'plank' and some back extensions. Then I went on the treadmill again for 30 minutes - then I decided to go home.
I am planning on going the the gym tomorrow with R after school. Usually we do the row machine, the cross trainer, then she does the resistence machines (now I can do mine which are near hers) and then back to the cardio for a short time. We then go in the pool for a time.
(Starting heart rate about 100 - it's always high - does this mean I am mega unfit?????)
Tomorrow (or later tonight) I will do my measurements.
